Bringing the first week of our honoring black month to a close we thought to end things in an empowering way, rehashing the 1989 musical movement “Fight The Power.”
Hip-Hop legends Public Enemy first released the record through Spike Lee’s eye opening film “Do the Right Thing,” which focused on rival racial issues between blacks, hispanics, whites/italians and asians, becoming the leading single on the soundtrack. Public Enemy later re-released the single on their 3rd LP “Fear of the Black Planet ,” released in 1990.
The video was dispensed in two versions, also produced and directed by Spike Lee. One being a dipiction of the feature film, the other simulating a massive political rally in Brooklyn, NY, which focused on potesting crowds carrying signs of historical black figures such as Paul Robeson, Marcus Garvey, Chuck Berry, Martin Luther King, Jr. and Tawana Brawley.

Considering the excessive creativity Sarah Burton injected into Alexander McQueen’s summer/spring 2012 collection you could only imagine the extremities put into the campaign artwork. But, deciding to take a much softer approach photographer David Sims channeled a rather seraphic mood.
Ruffled in a pomp of floral-like gowns, object Zuzanna Bijoch flourished the illustrations of desire quite well. Embellished with fine beads and topped in Burton’s sophisticated lace, a resembling angelic figure appears for ad display.

The sound of disco is more relevant now in music than it has been in last two decades. For instance, take a listen to R. Kelly’s first single, a Marvin Gaye-Sam Cooke influenced track called “Share My Love,” from his upcoming album Write Me Back which is scheduled for release this March.
However… the single, which infuses disco strings, a mid-tempo beat, and baby-making lyrics that could very well get you and your partner in the right mood, still doesn’t add up to Kelly’s full potential. This is not the music I like to hear from him. I understand Kels is trying to grow with his music, and his fan base, but I think he should take it back (circa ‘99) for us. Truthfully speaking, over the last few years he’s provided us with only a few hits, but nothing to really ‘wow’ the industry.

Well, here at KidduNot, we thought we’d kick off Black History Month the right way, but unfortunately as bloggers we are sometimes in the position of being the bearers of bad news.
This morning we received word that the creator of the television dance show “Soul Train,” Don Cornelius, has died from what looks to have been an apparent suicide. Cornelius was found shot dead in his Los Angeles home around 4am Wednesday morning.
While detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department are still trying to determine if his death was actually a suicide, we’d like to send our blessings to his family and the people in his inner circle. Only they know what his was dealing with.
Soul Train was television’s longest running syndicated music program.
R.I.P. Don Cornelius. As you said best: We wish you love, peace, and soul!

sense of humor -
noun
the trait of appreciating (and being able to express) the humorous.
Not only is r&b freshman Miguel stealing hearts with his effortless vocal range and stage presence, but he’s grown comfortable enough to share a six sense with us as well; humor. Indulging in an impromptu with MTV’s ‘The Check-In’ hosts Jeff and Eric, Miguel had no problem playing the part of a lotus flower bomb holding hijacker. Carrying on, the Grey Goose rising icon also dished a few stalker tips.

Iggy Azalea had some very good news for her fans Friday: she inked a deal with Interscope records. The female rapper threw no hints when it came to her newly signed deal. “Interscope, if you were wondering.” Azalea tweeted. “Get used to me + jimmy smashing shit, cause thats the plan.”
Though she almost signed with Def Jam, the Australian rapper opted to be in good company with music heavyweights like Lady Gaga and LMFAO.
“Def Jam, I love. I was super close to signing with them. I think they’re just the best team… But then you look at who they’ve got signed to their label and it kind of makes you be like, ‘I don’t know. Am I going to be the guinea pig here for this?’ I don’t know,” she told Billboard.
It’s been a lot of adversity for the rapper who has been rapping since her teens years. “If only you could’ve all known me since I was 14 first doing this until now… its been such a long road to get my foot in this door.” Iggy then added, “I’m really happy I get a shot and a chance to be as great as the effort I put in… and ill be putting in MAX effort!.”
Finally, We’re able to see another female rapper coexist aside Nicki Minaj. Thank God!
Iggy is currently working on her debut album, The New Classic, (which is the follow-up to her mixtape “Ignorant Art”) in stores this June.
