It’s been more than fourteen years since Brandy and Monica recorded one of the biggest singles of the 1990s, “The Boy Is Mine”. Today the duo called into Atlanta’s v103 radio station to premiere their brand new record It all belongs to me,” written and produced by Rico Love.

Unlike “The Boy Is Mine,” the girls have decided to stand up together, take back their power as women, and get out of their damaging relationship.

Back when their single was declared the best-selling song of 1998, Brandy and Monica didn’t get a chance to celebrate together because they had fallen out over ‘hear-say’ by industry peers. But Monica assured v103 that they’ve put the past behind them and have truly grown since then:

“This is totally different than that era…and I hope it speaks to all the people that’s making diss tracks and going hard on each other out here in the streets. Come together and watch the numbers move. That should motivate you enough to just say that it makes no sense to be beefing like this. It’s senseless. Music is suppose to be for the soul. We’re turning it into something else. And we [Brandy and Monica] were young enough and enough to accept that back then, but at 31, thats’ an absolute no-no.”

Brandy and Monica will shoot the video for “It all belongs to me” on Feb. 13th, and the song will appear on both of the singer’s albums. Hopefully the girls can break their way back into Billboard’s Hot 100 and prove that united is without a doubt powerful. Share your thoughts on the record and let us know how you feel.
